At Marabans Coffee & Tea we have been teaching, promoting and sharing the art of coffee for more than 25 years. Our passion for this beverage goes beyond taste: we believe in the importance of transmitting knowledge, technique and coffee culture to those who wish to live this experience in depth.
That's why we have designed different courses that, through exclusive technical training, will allow you to expand your knowledge, whether you are looking for a career as a barista or simply to enjoy a perfect coffee at home.
Being well trained, having a good base and being constantly updated are fundamental pillars for making good coffee. And they are also three concepts that define the way we teach.
Thus is born Marabans Academy, with the aim of training both professionals in the sector and true coffee lovers.
The times and days of the trainings are previously coordinated with our Experience Manager.
Groups will consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 students.
5 hours (from 09:00h. to 14:00h.) in our WorkShop in Marabans / Polígono de Can Picafort - Mallorca.
Possibility of holding the course in another location for groups of more than 5 students (barista course in Mallorca).
Designed for those who are taking their first steps into the world of coffee or already have some experience, this course provides a solid foundation for developing confident barista skills.
You will learn about the origin of coffee, cultivation processes, extraction methods (under- and over-extraction), recipe creation, grinder adjustment, preparation of classic drinks, equipment cleaning, correct milk emulsion and first steps in latte art.
The training is provided by Joan Simó, certified barista by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) at Sensory & Brewing and Experience Manager of Marabans Coffee & Tea, who will also adapt the contents according to the level of each student.
Aimed at baristas and hospitality professionals looking to delve deeper into advanced techniques and work with speciality coffee, this course offers technical, precise and fully practical training.
We work with defects in green and roasted coffee, coffee varieties, infusion methods such as Chemex, V60, Aeropress and Cold Brew, cuppings with SCA and espresso protocol, use of the refractometer and exercises to understand and adjust the extraction percentage and filter grind.
This training is also provided by Joan Simó, Our expert barista and Experience Manager, who will contact you before the course to customise the content according to your knowledge and objectives.
In addition, at the end of the course, students who have passed the course, will receive a Marabans Coffee & Tea diploma. which will certify them as connoisseurs of the art of making coffee-based beverages.
