CAFÉ PARA PINTAR

Did you know that coffee can be used as paint?

Well, with a coffee, a brush and a piece of paper (or a canvas) you can start creating your works of art.

Marabans is organising a natural painting with coffee workshop on Monday 13th August in Can Picafort. The workshop, led by two artists from the centre  ‘laboratori Creatiu, Ennigualrt’ , The workshop will take place at 6 p.m. in Plaza Cervantes so that all the children can give free rein to their imagination and make their own works of art in the form of postcards.

Here are some tips to encourage you to give it a try:

So that the paint does not spoil or wrinkle the paper, we recommend that you use paper that is suitable for watercolour, i.e. that can withstand humidity.

You can prepare the ink at home with a simple espresso coffee or with instant coffee and hot water. To get different shades of paint, simply add more or less water.

To give colour you can use brushes, spatulas or paintbrushes as with any other type of paint.

With coffee you can draw and paint monochromatic works with brown tones, playing with the luminosity and darkness of the shades of brown that we get with the mixture of coffee and water.
