Orang Utan Coffee Project
The coffee that protects its origin
We collaborate with the Orang Utan Coffee Project: for every kilo, 50 cents go to the farmers and another 50 cents go to protecting the Sumatran orangutan.
Orang Utan Coffee Project
The coffee that protects its origin
We collaborate with the Orang Utan Coffee Project: for every kilo, 50 cents go to the farmers and another 50 cents go to protecting the Sumatran orangutan.
What is
The Orang Utan Coffee Project was founded on an unshakeable premise: good coffee must be able to protect its own environment. A mission in which we actively participate as partners and roasters in Spain.
The mechanism
One euro per kilo, with a known destination.
We're not talking about vague donations or fuzzy percentages of profits. For every kilo of green coffee exported, a fixed and auditable premium is paid, which is divided into two exact halves: one for the grower and one for the habitat protector.
A measurable impact that translates into three milestones:
50 cents to the farmer
A direct premium per kilo that rewards strict adherence to ecological and conservation standards.
50 cents to the SOCP
Donated entirely to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme, which operates on the ground.
10% of the budget
The total volume generated by the sale of this coffee covers one-tenth of the program's annual expenditure.
Sumatra
Eighty percent of Sumatra's rainforest has already disappeared, taking the orangutan with it. To protect the ecosystem that still survives, a biologist and three coffee experts founded this project in Gayo Highland. A model where more than 350 small farmers cultivate coffee beans under the non-negotiable demand of protecting their environment. Agriculture transformed into conservation.

Coffee
85 non-negotiable points of excellence
Protecting the ecosystem directly translates into bean quality. Coffee grown in Gayo Highland is organic certified by Swiss bio.inspecta and rated 85 points by the Specialty Coffee Association. Undeniable proof that environmental rigor and excellence in the cup are inseparable.
