Every 1 October is the day chosen to celebrate International Coffee Day.

The reason for this celebration is to recognise the millions of people who work and have worked throughout the world in the past and present (history), to offer us the drink that we enjoy every day and that we love so much; coffee.

It was in 1983 when this day was first promoted, the precursor of this fact was The All Japan Coffee Association, but it was not until a few years ago that it began to be celebrated as such.

The purpose of the #InternationalCoffeeDay commemoration is to make visible all the work that goes into coffee production and all the people who work on it. From the cultivation on the farms to its preparation in bars or coffee shops. To make visible the production system in which many people are involved, but which usually goes unnoticed and we only see the final result, the cup of coffee that we enjoy every day.

At Marabans Coffee & Tea we want to join this movement and commemorate this special day for us.

The International Coffee Organisation (ICO) is promoting #InternationalCoffeeDay for the purpose of giving visibility and the opportunity to pay tribute to the women and men involved in all stages of the coffee process.
