Our Super Mario, 3 times world champion, won the silver medal at the Grand Final of the World Series in Lausanne. Mario Mola continues to show us his greatness as a person and athlete, standing on the podium competition after competition, the last one in the World Cup in Banyoles.

We transcribe part of the interview conducted at our headquarters Marabans Coffee & Tea in Can Picafort.

What does a champion like you feel when you reach the finish line? What do you think about?

When you cross the finish line with your work done, it's a bit of a feeling of relief and happiness to be able to put the work behind you into practice. Obviously you can only see it in the competition, it's what people can see and enjoy, but there is a lot of work behind it, many hours of dedication... and having had a good race and crossing the finish line is that moment of relief that everything went well, and of course, the joy of having achieved a good result.

Mario, now that the World Series is over, will you continue to delight us with your great performances at the Tokyo 2020 Games?

My hope is that I will arrive at the Tokyo Olympics in the best possible conditions, just as I did at the Rio Olympics, to try to go out and fight for the medals, and hope that my preparation is good enough to allow me to be in these places of honour.

I have many months, or a little less than a year, ahead of me to make it happen, and I will try to do my best so that hopefully I can go 100×100 at the Tokyo Games.

Coffee is a drink closely linked to sport, especially cycling. When you are not training hard, do you stop drinking coffee or as a good "CoffeeLover" do you continue with your coffee routine?

I continue with my coffee routine, obviously, when you train more and are more tired is when caffeine allows you to perform in morning and afternoon training sessions, but I think that those who enjoy and value good coffee can't give it up even if the amount of training sessions is reduced as the season ends.
